Transgenerational mutational signature in offspring of former Chernobyl cleanup workers

Researchers have found that DNA damage caused by ionizing radiation from the 1986 Chernobyl nuclear disaster is appearing in the children of those who were exposed—marking the first clear evidence of such effects being passed down across generations.
