Since 2014, Russian anti-nuclear group EcoDefense has been target of the government’s vicious attacks aimed at undermining and maligning the independent citizens voices. This month, the Russian authorities have escalated the repression by levelling a fine of 2 million rubles and sending punitive orders to more individuals associated with EcoDefense. This completely inhuman, undemocratic and unacceptable move deserves international condemnation. Please sign and circulate widely the petition below, initiated by our anti-nuclear groups in Germany.

EcoDefense is not “foreign agent”: Co-Chair Vladimir Slivyak explains

Ecodefense will never agree to the “foreign agent” status. We know that Russian courts almost always side with the state, and we do not entertain high hopes for a just decision when we face these charges in court. But some little hope we do hold out – and we will fight to continue our work in Russia. Too severe is Russia’s environmental situation, and too much is left to do yet to abandon this fight.
