Belgium shuts down nuclear reactor over suspected vessel cracking

Belgium has temporarily shut down one of its seven nuclear power plants after the country’s atomic energy regulator FANC discovered “several anomalies,” including possible cracks, in the vessel containing the reactor’s core, casting doubt over the government’s plan to keep it open until 2022.
