Since this morning we have been sitting in this open parched landscape thinking about our future and lives. We had something to eat and drink, but our minds have been restless. But now we are surrounded by police. They are coming closer and closer. Some are swaying their lathies and also intimidating us.
We are scared that they will not allow us to remain peacefully here.
What is unlawful about sitting in a land that is ours near the sea which has fed us for years?
The only thing we ask is for us to live in freedom. We want to grow up strong and healthy. They are using tear gas. As I look out, I see my people caught between the sea and police force.
We appeal again and again to the Chief Minister and also the Police. I see dear Xavieramma, one of our strongest leaders being caught by the police and she holding her hands. It breaks my heart to see this.
DO PLEASE INTERVENE AND SPREAD THE MESSAGE OF PEACE
PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS TO US
CALL US OR COME TO US AND TALK …LISTEN TO WHAT WE HAVE TO SAY
WE WANT TO LIVE IN THIS LAND AND NEAR THE SEA
