Nuclear Workers from Rawatbhata Support Koodankulam Struggle, Expose NPCIL

“We condemn the brutality unleashed by the NPCIL and Tamil Nadu Government on the innocent people of Koodankulam in strongest terms. The situation in Koodankulam today is a creation of NPCIL itself. Wherever they have to construct a new reactor, they make big promises to the local people. But as soon as the reactor construction is complete, they use force to exploit people.”

NPCIL प्रबंधन तथा तमिलनाडू सरकार द्वारा जिस तरह से कोणमकुलम के बेकसुर लोगो पर अत्याचार किया जा रहा है उसका अणुशक्ति डी आर श्रमिक संघ, रावतभाटा भी कठोर तौर से निन्दा करता है। कोणमकुलम में आज जो भयानक स्थिति बनी है उसकी ज़िम्मेदार स्वंय NPCIL प्रबंधन है क्योंकि NPCIL प्रबंधन जहा भी परमाणु रिएक्टर बनाती है वहां के स्थानीय जनता को रोजगार तथा विकास को लेकर बडे़ बडे़ वादे करती है तथा जैसे ही परमाणु रिएक्टर का कार्य पूर्ण हो जाता है NPCIL प्रबंधन अपने वादो से मुकर जाती है तथा अपनी ताकत का इस्तेमाल कर स्थानिय लोगो का शोषण करना शुरू कर देती है।

महोदय डी आर श्रमिक संघ,रावतभाटा एैसे परमाणु रिएक्टर का पुर्ण रूप से विरोध करती है जो कि बेकसुर लोगो की जान लेकर स्थापित किए जाए एैसे संयत्रो का होने का किया फायदा जिसमे रोजगार के बदले मौत मिलती हो। रावतभाटा में भी 1 से 6 युनिट उत्पादन कर रही है तथा 7 व 8 युनिट का कार्य चल रहा है और इन संयत्रो में स्थानिय लोगों को रोजगार न देकर दुसरे राज्यो के व्यक्तियो को रोजगार दिया जा रहा है कारणवश स्थानिय नौजवान बेरोजगार घुम रहा जिसके चलते यह नौजवान मानसिक रूप से प्रताडित हो रहे है और अपने कदम गलत दिशा में लेजा रहे
है जैसे की हाल ही में दिनांक 25.08.2012 को रावतभाटा में बेरोजगारी के चलते दो समुदायो के
सैकड़ों लोग भ्रमित होकर साम्प्रदायिक अशांति फैलाने के लिए अलग अलग एकत्रित हो गए थे अगर यह लोग उस दौरान राजगार से होते तो हर कोई अपने कार्य क्षैत्र पर होता और रावतभाटा में तनाव का माहोल नही होता।

जल्द ही कूडनकुलम के बेकसुर लोगो को इन्साफ नहीं दिया गया तथा रावतभाटा के स्थानीय लोगों को रोजगार एव श्रमिक संघ की मांगों को पूर्ण नही किया गया तो डी आर श्रमिक संघ पुनः रावतभाटा में आन्दोलन शुरू करेगा तथा जरूरत पडने पर जहां भी परमाणु रिएक्टर है, वहां के स्थानिय लोग एक साथ दिल्ली एकत्रित होकर दिल्ली में आन्दोलन करेंगें।

The Anushakti Daily Rate Shramik Sangathan, a union of contractual workers in the Rawatbhata Nuclear Power Station (RAPS), has come out in support of the Koodankulam struggle.

They have written a letter to the Prime Minister listing the issues they are facing in Rawatbhata – low wages, absence of adequate safety and health measures, no social security and exploitation by labour contractors and the seniors. In the letter to Prime Minister and Chief Minister, they have also mentioned that they understand the concerns raised by the people struggling against upcoming projects at various places.

In a separate press release, the contractual workers union has expressed its full solidarity with the Koodankulam struggle.

They have said:

We totally oppose construction of such reactors that are built by killing people and where people loose their lives in the name of employment.” In India, most of these contractual workers are actually the farmers who gave their fertile land for the reactors.

They have also threatened to intensify their movement:

“If the Koodankulam people do not get justice very soon and also our demands for better working conditions are not met, we will go on strike.

We also plan to go to Delhi and organise a joint protest of people and workers aggrieved by existing and upcoming reactors.”
