UPA Govt. Seems to Say: “Come Back Mr. Warren Anderson, Indian Life is Worthless!”

Manmohan Singh and Congress Party Work for Foreigners and Their MNCs

The Distrusted and Discredited Prime Minister Should Cancel His US Trip!

In a characteristically bizarre, brazen and shameless manner, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has dodged the established regulations and procedures in setting up new nuclear power plants and used his handmaiden institution, the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS), to set up 6×1,000 MW nuclear power park at Mithi Virdi in Bhavnagar district of Gujarat. The mandatory viability analysis has not yet been done before setting up this ultra mega nuclear project and this shows clearly how much contempt this UPA government has for the safety and security of the people of India and how loyal they are to their foreign masters in upholding their business interests.

The Congress Party and its “Mr. Clean, the First” Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi helped Union Carbide chief, Warren Anderson, to flee India in the wake of the Bhopal gas tragedy in December 1984. The people of Bhopal are still running from pillar to post without getting any liability, compensation, medical assistance and other helps. Now “Mr. Clean, the Second” Prime Minister Manmohan Singh offers dilution of key provisions of the Indian nuclear liability law to the United States so that American nuclear suppliers such as the GE and Westinghouse will not be held liable in the event of an accident caused by faulty or defective equipment.

According to the insidious Manmohan Plan, if and when an accident occurs at Mithi Virdi in the future, the Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd. (NPCIL), the operator of the nuclear power plant, will choose not to exercise the “right of recourse” clause provided by Section 17 of the Civil Liability for Nuclear Damages Act, 2010. The liability clause is there in the Law to please us, the people and the Parliament of India, but the NPCIL and the government of India will not utilize it to secure any compensation and let the nuclear Warren Andersons flee the country in special planes. The drama will be called “Nuclear Bhopal All Over Again!”

This dilution of liability is nothing but seditious. This makes us wonder who this Prime Minister and his government are working for? For the people of India? Or for America, Russia, France and other foreign countries and their corporations? All this makes us wonder if Dr. Manmohan Singh is the Prime Minister or the Crime Minister of India?

Already truthlessness, insidiousness, closedness, and closeness to foreign cronies have all been the hallmarks of the various nuclear projects in India. In the case of the Koodankulam nuclear project (KKNPP), the NPCIL and the government of India stubbornly refuse to share the Site Evaluation Report (SER), the Safety Analysis Report (SAR), and the 2008 secretive Inter-Governmental Agreement (IGA) on liability with the Russians. The NPCIL has gone to the Delhi High Court and obtained a stay order against sharing these reports with the people of India. The Koodankulam deception is being reenacted yet again at Mithi Virdi. Welcome, Bharathiya Bhaiyo aur Behano, to the arrogant, authoritarian, anti-democratic, Fascist nuclear India!

President Putin of Russia, President Obama of the United States and all these foreign leaders work for their people, their economy and their national welfare. It is ironic that our Prime Minister also does the same to help foreigners, their economies and their national welfare. The racist American administration always considers American life more valuable and worthier than the rest of humanity. Why can’t Mr. Barrack Obama respect the Indian Liability Act and be willing to offer liability if their nuclear products are of international quality and standards? All these nuclear crooks want to sell their shoddy and substandard nuclear equipment to losers and make a lot of profits. It is really sad that the nuclear fools in the South countries fall for their machinations in return for a cut in the loot.

The people of India should put their foot down now and say loudly and clearly that we, the citizens of the highly and densely populated country called India, must discuss the nuclear policy and projects in a nationwide discussion and debate and decide the future course ourselves. All the political parties and social movements in India should contribute to this national debate. We trust neither the nuclear crooks nor the nuclear fools who are loitering around with salivating mouths to snatch a few fleshy bones in the multi-billion nuclear deals. The distrusted, discredited and lame-duck Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who is in the fag end of his prime ministership, should refrain from taking crucial policy decisions and from implementing important projects, cancel his American trip all together and defer the nuclear decision-making to the next government of India which is to be chosen soon.
