Tomari Genpatsu in Hokkaido is re-starting. 12 years ago,they had the same issue again.At that time,Hokkaido power company and local government tried to manipulate the public opinion,which has been done for all the other nuc plants in Japan too.

Most probably,to all the other nuc plants in the world. Here are the templates that they prepared. If you have the same opinion,you are likely to be brain washed without noticing.

October 1999,it turned out that Hokkaido power company ordered their employees,their surroundings,and sub-contract companies to submit 5000 of the pro-nuc “opinion” to the town meetings.

北電は全社を挙げ、社員、社員の知人、グループ会社などに指示し、道内5カ所「道民の意見を聴く会」それぞれ30人程度を応募させ傍聴人として定員の半数を動員するよう求めていた。

Power company ordered their stakeholders to send attendance to the town meetings to be held at 5 places in Hokkaido.The average number of the attendance was about 30.They were required to cover about half of all the audience.

北電の全社を挙げた指示文書は「極秘」の判が押され「提出する意見には泊3号機増設に賛成の主旨がはっきりわかるように簡潔に記述する」と丁寧な指導も添えられていた。

The company command document was treated as confidential.It included the guideline to tell “Submit brief and clear opinion to support the new building project of unit3,Tomari genpatsu.”

用意された賛成意見のひな形は「泊3号機の増設は絶対必要です。風力や太陽光などで電気を確保できるとは考えられない」など架空の道民5人の意見を紹介。

The templates of the opinion was like “Tomari genpatsu definitely needs unit3.It is impossible to reply on wind power or solar power.” It was totally a set-up opinion.

Another template “27 years old,female office worker.having asthma.[I think we have to reply on nuclear power.I can’t live in the place of polluted air.My parents even moved house for my asthma.To save our ecology,we mustn’t reply on coal or oil power.] ”

42歳パート女性「原発を危険だと考えていた。原爆と原発は一緒だと思い込み、説明を聞いて原発はどうやっても爆弾になり得ないと教えられました」

More template “42 years old ,female,part time worker [I used to think nuc was dangerous,I couldn’t distinguish atomic bomb and nuclear power.but listening to the explanation,I learnt nuc plant can never become like a bomb.”

Fukushima will not be decommissioned for about 100 years or longer.
Even a normal nuclear plant,which has not had a problem, takes 30 years to be decommissioned.

2007, Niigata had a major earthquake and serious trouble at Kashiwazaki Kariwa genpatsu.
Having this disaster,Niigata planned on safety exercise in 2010.
However,nuclear agency stopped them. They commented,nuclear plant is safe even for extremely strong earthquake. Safety exercise on the assumption that earthquake and nuclear disaster happen at once causes panic and misunderstanding about nuclear power.

Some of the Fukushima children evacuated from Fukushima.They had a meeting with jap gov yesterday,but they couldn’t hide their disappointment about how reluctant gov is to save Fukushima children.
They are junior highschool students.”People from gov could not even answer our questions(such as why they don’t let all the children evacuate from Fukushima.). We wanted to meet Jap pm or minister of science,whoever has more responsibility.”

[too late to escape]

US government was planning to make all the 90,000 American citizens evacuate from Tokyo on 3/16.
They already knew Fukushima was having meltdown. They were extremely doubtful about jap gov.
They decided not to have them evacuate to be concerned about the potential effect to the alliance between Japan and America.

I personally think that was because America wanted to invest into nuc more actually.

[Kanto is more contaminated than we thought]

At the sewage plant in Maebashi Gunma,they detected 8,000Bq/kg from the ash of the sewage sludge.
